Why would he use a plane?  The body and chassis doesn't contain any wood - do you understand what hybrids are?   They're not the little matchstick toys you used to make.  mi7

errr - why aren't you just un-doing the 10 body mounts ( plus other little sundries ) and lifting the whole body off?

Surely that owuld be simpler?

If he's doing it by himself and if the body is scrap anyhow maybe easier to just give it the chop?

Also a complete body takes up as much space as the roling chassis, unlike a pile of rusty bits of metal that can be stuck to one side. Although if you have the space and enough lifting power then it is easy enough to lift the body off.....

yep, i'm doing all the work by myself with no lifting equipment, also i have virtually no room to store parts

i'm planning to keep it as a drivable chassis until i get the defender bodywork and am ready to fit it.

From the pic. it looks a quite reasonable looking bus.  Was it really shagged or what? Huh

Jeeeezuz!   That rust really is an indictment on LR build quality ain't it?  One wonders if the pedal pads are original & the body is fucked before they are worn?
Salt on your roads must cost the country millions of quids.     Maybe also internal water leaks as well on that.

Just seems a shame that a "nice looking" motor is so fucked & it ain't all that old either.  What 6 years?

Des, it's over 20 years old.  Still crap rust proofing at time of build though.
