the rust comes up as far as the hand brake drum  motz so whilst i've got the chance i'm going to swap the chassis

i believe in "if your going to do a job, do it properly and do it properly the first time"

there's no point in bodging something cos it'll only come back and bite you in the ass  neener

Sounds a bit like my chassis, they are prone to rust in the rear "dip" but that all gets removed

Marker pen line everything below can go...actually everthing to the rear of that crossmember on the right can go...just make up new sections to attach the rear crossmember...

Well when I turn 18 I have got 4k to do what I like with compensation from a crash wen I was 6. would that be enough to buy your 100"  wink

But honestly i wanted a hybrid(tax exempt) for cheaper insurance and free tax(a tdi hopefully)

I'd have been more inclinded to shorten the 110 chassis, would save a shit load of fabricating with outriggers...and rear ends got to be replaced on whatever chassis you use

i thought that but for some reasons i don't fancy a cut and shut  Undecided

i'd rather stick with the rangy chassis as it will be more of a challenge and more rewarding to build

I can assure you Dave that nothing is as much of a challenge as trying to make 2 halves of a 110 chassis meet up and be square in all 3 planes - especially as landrover didn't go to the expense of making the chassis rails exactly the same length in the first place bang head

I must admit that if and when I do another 100" I'll do it on a rangie chassis - much less for the SVA man to inspect on the critical welding front if you do it legal.

Nice to meet you at the weekend though Dave and keep us posted - looking rather black and shiny so far.
