That be the air con mounting bracket.

Thanks Guys. I like them too, Wont be keeping them all though. The 2 door hardly gets used or abused any more, the 89 has some parts (mostly EFI) I want for spares if I go overseas with the 110. The colour of the 110 isnt bad but I always liked the colour of the Tombraiders. I wouldnt want to get lost in the desert sand. Roll Eyes

My latest addition, soon to be dismantled, the engine re ringed and bearings, gaskets, etc, as the dissy advance has died causing it to overheat. Only 135,000km equiv of 400 GBP, which is about 30% of the normal price. Engine and auto to be put into the 110. Hopefully the sale of diffs and rims should recover the purchase cost.

I have taken the engine out of the disco, pulled the heads off and found a few surprises.  Later 10 bolt heads, meant to have composite gaskets but had tin plates!  thud Split lower rad hose, showed signs of being shortened previously for the same reason. thud
Block has no engine number so possibly has had a replacement block already. 7 bores have hone marks still, why not the other one?
Front cover is the interim type, crank driven oil pump and distributor, so that has been removed for the 4.6 engine, with the heads.
The 3.9 block is getting a set of 14 bolt heads and composite gaskets ( even with the lowering of the compression) and that and the auto will be fitted in the 110 with carbs, keeping the LPG for now.
Due to the holdups with my work contracts the new chassis will be slowly built up as funds allow purchase of parts. Just want to be able to enjoy the 3.9 auto in the 110 for now.

Had to plate a hole in the 110 bulkhead outrigger and replace a tailight bulb but it now has its WOF for the next six months.  Need to get some valve stem seals for the heads I am putting on the 3.9 as they had been sitting too long and got some rust on the stems and dont want to pull the valves without replacing the seals. Then its 3.9 and auto into the 110.

not really a lot of progress here at present Ray.
Found some umbrella seals in my collection this morning which I think will fit the rover although they were Ford v8 ones, so tonight will start stripping the heads and cleaning up the valves. I have fitted the old type front cover and waterpump to the 3.9 block, the pics show the heads sitting on the block, but they have to be tidied up before they will be bolted on.

The bricklayer is making a bit of progress on the job so I am starting on the interior linings of the house today, been waiting 3 months for it! Wont be much income this year, but hopefully the paperwork will be sorted for the 8 houses I am waiting on, they booked me in for the middle of last year to start, will more likely be the end of this year, so having to find a bit to fill in. I could have gone to the city if I had known it was going to be 18 months behind. thud

FFS, 18 months behind! No wonder you've been cooling your heels on ORRP every day for the last few months... lol     wink

Btw, keep the pics coming when you can manage.

I got a bit enthusiastic about the landy yesterday and fitted the Mud dash, blank at present until I order some gauges and switches for it, but all the brackets are now fitted.
Also whilst at it I thought I may as well fit the large size mirrors from Paddocks, once again not a complete job as I have heaters to go in them later, still trying to find some convoluted ? tubing to run the wiring in, might have to wait till I go to the big city, or buy it from Ebay. I am thinking this one will be more of a toy/ work truck now and may have to buy a TD5  als5  for my travels, otherwise I will never be able to afford to go. Its not just in the UK that fuel is getting expensive.

Tipper and trailer working v8, pneumatic.
Next project to be completed is the crane, a model of a 200tonne mobile we used on the building site in Auckland, 10 wheels, 8 driving, full suspension, working 5 speed gearbox, v8, 8 remote controlled functions, 21 pneumatic rams. It is over 1M long, raises to about 1700mm lift height. No pics today though.
